For all the ones following the Francis/Eliza/O'Leary story I have put together a little chronoglical scenario of what we have so far: Let me know if you can add anything else!! Ron Francis Luddington was married to a Margaret Brown, they had.... Susan b 1807 Edward b 1808 Elizabeth b1809 Mary b 1810 John b 1812 d 1812 John b 1813 Ann b 1814 George b 1818 Rebecca b 1819 Jane b 1820 Eliza b 1823 d 1827 Emily b 1827 Margaret died January 1827, the births above are taken from baptisms. Francis remarried in 1846, 29 May to Susan Cornwell As well as the children above they had...... Charles b 1849 d 1849 Charles b 1851 d 1851 Francis b 1852 d 1883 1851 census of Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England Francis Luddington 67 head farmer,20ac 1 man Susan Luddington 24 wife William Luddington son 5 George Luddington son 4 Eliza Luddington dau 2 (she b abt 1849?) Since the death of her father, Francis aboout 1852?,, her mother has become the wife of Dr. Buckland, now of Stoney Ridge, Ohio. Four children have been born to our subject and his wife: Mary, wife of Sydney Weaver, of Lake township; John; William; and Edward Eliza came with her step-father and mother who immigrated in 1855, according to the 1900 census. Her step-father is Dr. Henry P. Buckland and on the 1860 census, she is listed as Eliza Buckland, age 7, born in England. What is especially interesting about the 1860 census is that it shows Henry P. Buckland, age 32, with wife, Susan and 3 children, all born in England. If Eliza is a Ludington, then it would seem likely that her older brothers are as well. George is 8 and William is 10. 1870 census for Troy, Wood, Ohio H. Buckland, head, 42, physician, England Susan, 35, keeping house, England William, 24, clerks in store, England Eliza, 21, without occupation, England In 1873 Mr. O'Leary was united in marriage with Miss Eliza Ludington, a native of England, and a daughter of William F. and Susan (Cornwall) Ludington. Dennis O'Leary was reared upon the old homestead and obtained his education in the district schools of Lake township. On leaving the parental roof, in 1868, he went to Iowa, locating in the city of Tama, Tama county, where he was employed for two years at the carpenter's trade, after which he returned to Wood county, and has since been numbered among its most energetic and progressive farmers. Eliza (Ludington) O'Leary is alive in 1900. She and husband, Dennis, and two sons, William and Edward, are living in Lake, Wood County, Ohio. They are wealthy enough to have a servant. 1900 census also states that Susan (Cornwall) (Ludington) Buckland had three children and only 1 is living. That would seem to be Eliza. I see the Cornwall name spelled a both "well and wall" Which is coorect? I have a Cornwell neighbor. ____________________________________________________________________________________ We won't tell. Get more on shows you hate to love (and love to hate): Yahoo!
