Brick wall Fred Well, Fred, it is good to know that someone else is working this problem. I have traced the family to present day almost completely. There are a few births born after 1930 that I have not found but the last candidate for Y-DNA died a few years ago in California. At one time or the other, I have subscribed to all the paid genealogy sites available on the internet and searched them thoroughly for something on him without success. I still have a subscription to Ancestry and to New England Historical Genealogical Society. Now, I will learn as much as I can at the Family History Center. To my knowledge, the only primary data we have on Comfort, son of Comfort, is his mention on Capt. Comfort's will, and a couple of very early census sheets. I know of no primary record showing his marriage to Mary Mulkin or to Rebecca Dayton. I know of no land that he owned, recorded births of children, or will that he left, even when he died. There are lots of statements about these things on the net on family trees but no actual primary documentation that I have seen. On the net, it is frequently mentioned that he had a daughter, Loretta, as his first born child. I believe that Rachel, Ron and I have disproved that by proving her to be the first born daughter of Nathaniel Stewart and Huldah (Tuttle) Luddington. I think you can see that I don't give up easily...so, together, we will get this fellow tied to his family. Elaine ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
