Thank you Elaine and Ron! I must admit I had many conversations with my father. He was not a very forthcoming fellow, Private, would be a good word for him and he knew little of his family. I am the genealogist and pieced it together for him from some things my sisters thought to ask our Grandmother. He did however come over one day and tell me of his tour of duty in WWII and a bit about his life in Putnam. I had asked him how he would want to be remembered, and now I am glad that I did. That is more than I would have expected but he was a proud Navy Man. The rest of his secrets are those he chose to keep well so I would have never found out any way. What I regret is that there will be no more conversations!!! Thank God for memories!
