    3. Not that I am aware of, However I have had some success with the local historians. They deal with these often and can decipher them easily. I did most of the work myself and then asked for them to help fill in blanks. Some also have old script sheets that show lettering from the time period. One such place is Vedder Library in Upstate NY. I picked up a sheet while I was there but would be hard pressed to find it now. I just checked 3 large files but can not put my hands on it. gchsvl@mhcable.com That is there e-mail address perhaps if you can find no further local assistance you can ask them to mail you a sheet (they charge for copies and postage but if you have a fax maybe they could fax it) What I have run across is that when double ss is written the first looks like a script s and at times when the s is at the end of sentence they drop down with it and it looks like a Z. Good luck and sorry I could not be more helpful Mary ----- Original Message ---- gchsvl@mhcable.com From: "Paul Luddington" <pluddington007@tiscali.co.uk> To: "Lud List" <Luddington-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2007 8:14 AM Subject: [LUDDINGTON] old Wills > Hi all > Would anyone know if there are any books/web sites the can help > with the deciphering of old wills??? > > Regards > Paul > > > -- > I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. > It has removed 254 spam emails to date. > Paying users do not have this message in their emails. > Get the free SPAMfighter here: http://www.spamfighter.com/len > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > LUDDINGTON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message
