    1. [LUDDINGTON] Research at LDS Family History Centers
    2. Hi, Everybody, Mary was very kind to respond to me when I asked her for advice for researching Comfort Ludington in Duchess County. Now I will ask for advice from all of you. I am planning to make my very first trip to an FHC on Monday. My first objective is to find some documentation for Comfort Ludington, born 1770. He is the son of Comfort Ludington, the Rev War hero, born 1740. I have found him on a few of the early census records as head of household and he is mentioned in his father's will but I have never found anything else factual. He is listed on many family trees on the web. He is found on the IGI records that have been member submitted but no documentation available. I have exhausted my resources on the web and sources for contacts that may have some primary documentation....so, I am off to a FHC. If I copy a list from the online catalog, will I be able to order those items? I welcome all hints and advice. Elaine ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    3. OMG you must think I am a nut. I was thinking you were going to Poughkeepsie. In cold springs they have a research center. Therefore I mentioned all the stuff for the NY area. Not sure where my head is at. The FHC has a book section as well. If you look in the NY section you may find some stuff there. They have books on Old gravestones in NY the also have tax lists and other such records. Are there any war he could have fought in maybe the war of 1812. That I can try to get from the national Archives. I think and I am not sure why that Comfort moved to Fishkill NY at one point.
