Ludington An obituary and a death notice for Margaret D. Ludington appeared in the Fri. Feb. 4, 2000 issue of New Haven Register. Some of us old timers in the Yale Library have fond memories of Mrs. Ludington, who retired in 1979 after being for many years Head of the Rare Book Division in the SML Catalog Dept. Jane Gillis and Stephen Young are among the many catalogers she trained in the art of rare book cataloging. She was born Feb. 23, 1916 in West Haven, a daughter of the late Charles Scott Dow and Margaret Bartlett Dow. She graduated from Middlebury College in 1937 with a degree in English literature. Soon after receiving her M.A. in Library Service from Columbia University School of Library Service, she came to work in SML as a cataloger. Besides her husband Emerson of 61 Martin St. in West Haven, she is survived by two daughters, Margaret L. Bilyard of Richland, WA and Katherine L. Warton of Livermore, CA, and five grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ Find a local pizza place, movie theater, and more .then map the best route! http://maps.live.com/?icid=hmtag1&FORM=MGAC01 ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to LUDDINGTON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ____________________________________________________________________________________ No need to miss a message.
