    3. http://www.ryanwadleigh.com/merriman.html Family history indicates that Abigail's maiden name may have been Williams, but there is as of yet no proof to support this claim. Their marriage was apparently not recorded in any town in New Haven County. If her name was in fact Abigail Williams, then she may have been the Abigail Williams born on October 3, 1760 in Wallingford, Connecticut; the daughter of Willougbhy Williams and Abigail Alling. This Abigail's brother Willoughby Williams Jr. married Amos Merriman's sister Abigail. Some sources indicate though that this Abigail married John Luddington, and had a daughter Ama/Anna Luddington born in 1783. Ama was apparently an only child and appears to have been orphaned as a youth and went to live with an uncle in New York. Perhaps her father John Luddington died soon after her birth and her mother remarried to Amos Merriman, yet she was sent to live with paternal relatives. _________________________________________________________________ Rates near 39yr lows! $430K Loan for $1,399/mo - Paying Too Much?
