Ron A little bit more on Thomas and Mary from Lincoln, I have got the marriage cert and it states.............. 18 November 1845 Thomas Luddington 20 Father Thomas Luddington Mary Atkins 17 Father William Atkins Thomas was a Taylor and his father was a Police officer, Mary's was a Shoemaker. The marriage took place at St Mary Magdalene church. One of the whiteness was a Sarah Luddington, both of them signed the register themselves (no x as there mark). I am going to try to find out more on Thomas's father, maybe I can get some info from police archives??
