They both came here to Upper Canada in 1800 and got land grants of 200 ac each. Our family printing plant sits on a small portion of Levi's original grant. We still cannot pinpoint Levi's ancestry but we think he is Lewis Ludington , ( Lewis is close to Levi by just two letters displacement ) a son of Samuel Lud, bro to col Henry. Samuel appears in the 1790 census in Dutchess co NY along with his big family and he also had a son called Asa who disappeared but who turns up in mid NY state in the 1800's with family. One of Asa's descends has identical Y-DNA to mine, and to some of Levi's descends. And so we figure these two were brothers and sons of Samuel. But where's the paper proof???
