Ledington, 76, of Payette was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 3, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on January 26, 1929, at Manns Creek outside Weiser, Idaho, to Clarence and Edith (Thornton) Ledington. He attended Hale School and Weiser High School. He married Erma Kelpin on October 23, 1949, and they recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. This union produced five children: Roberta Nanninga (Paul) of Boise, Dan (JoAn) of Payette, Norman, Richard of Caldwell, and Charles (Betty) of Fruitland. Bob worked as a mechanic at Mason Motor in Weiser and Paul Roberts Buick in Nyssa. He operated his own business, Bob`s Auto Repair, which he ran for 13 years until he retired. The women of his life would not let him just sit around after retirement, so he started building fiddles and playing with the Old Time Fiddlers. Bob made 19 fiddles some of which are still being played by his grandchildren and the rest are on display at the family home. Bob was a good fiddle player and enjoyed sharing his music at the senior centers and nursing homes. Throughout his life he enjoyed working with his hands and could virtually build anything, it seemed, from the stuff in his scrap pile out back. He enjoyed the outdoors and cherished the time he spent in his motor home and boat. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harvey, Delbert "Pug", Victor "Dick", Howard; sisters pearl Bowman, Opal Morgan, Jewell Parsons, Golda Ledington; son Norman; and daughter-in-law Kathy Ledington.
