As I mention some weeks ago the City of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada is opening a new city park at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. It will be named in honour of the Ludington family who were one of the first families to settle in the area in June 1800 and who still have a presence in the local area. It will be called "LUDINGTON PARK". and is located in a newer part of the city at the intersection of Springbank Ave., and Halifax St. A visit to the site yesterday, Sept. 2, shows some playground equipment already in place and the grounds being groomed to perfection. All those who would like to attend please plan to do so. I have been invited to attend and give a summation of the family history in and about Woodstock and some info on the family origins. At the moment we do not have any plans for a " Ludington get-together " after the ceremony but I am sure that there will be something in place by the time it is completed and all those Ludingtons that made it will have a chance to get to meet each other and perhaps share a glass of whatever. I hope I have not missed anyone with this message but if you see a name missing please fell free to pass this along to them. Ron Ludington
