No occupation listed that I can see. Even in the Balston Spa historical place I visited Lemuel does not list as a farmer. He shows there in the Gurnsey father's will as a son-in-law so he was real. There are several mentions of him in Balston Spa records. Seth is mentioned too in letters left at the post office and an obit about a daughter's death. Just enough info to be enticing but not enough to take as factual connections. Lemeul went North when young, fought in the Revolution (enlisting several times because he apparently needed the money) and married Hopestil Truscott (b 1762 Mansfield CT, died 1838 Euclid, Ohio) in Mansfield Ct before 1787. Lemuel (from Rev. War Pension applic file) was, and remained, grindlingly poor, so much so that Addison County VT found (apparently around 1800) he could not feed his children adequately and required that some of them be "placed out:, i.e. put in the physical custody of other families who fed and clothed them commonly in exchange for work, unless they were infants. Some info I have on Seth (my g/g/grandfather) that mentions his early years etc. Most of this I picked up in Saratoga co NY records some years ago. I went there at least twice in the early 2000's. Notice the mention of Lemuel and Patience. Have you checked out the New England historical and genealogical Society Register Repository Media Book page to 76. I have not checked out this source yet so I don't know if is correct .
