    3. Ay one time Harrison Ludington and cousin, James Ludington,( of Ludington MI fame ) were lumber barons in WI, and MI. Their companies  often floated large lumber rafts down the Mississippi River and cut them to sizes in that lumber mill in LA.  Ron Ludington ________________________________ From: Barbara Campbell <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Mon, November 1, 2010 10:18:03 PM Subject: [LUDDINGTON] tid bit for Paul EARLY ANNALS OF BEAUREGARD PARISH Ludington This is another village which was built on account of one of the Long-Bell’s mills being there. It is situated on the Kansas City Railroad about three miles north of DeRidder. It was named for a Mr. Ludington of the Ludington, Wells, and Van Schoiek Lumber Co. It has never been changed to any other name. At the present time there is very little of interest to see in this little village because the mills were abandoned years ago.                          This list is adoptable.
