H. Kirk Ludington of Penn Valley died Jan. 16 in Grass Valley. He was 83. Private services will be held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Mr. Ludington was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Harley K. Ludington and Hazel A. Spring. He attended Coeur d’Alene High School, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He served in the Corporal Army Air Corp CBI (China, Burma, India), 1943 to 1946. He married Marion A. Jarvis on March 31, 1951. Mr. Ludington worked for 35 years with Caltrans in highway design. He enjoyed bicycling and camping. Mr. Ludington is survived by his daughter, Page Hensley of Penn Valley; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Trevor (Kathleen) Hensley of Salem, Ore., and grandson, Ryan Hensley of Chico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion A. Ludington. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley
