Gary Ludington Old west end community activist Gary Ludington takes his turn for a Guest Post: I recently underwent a very cost effective surgical process for the treatment of skin cancer. This surgical process is known as Mohs Surgery. The Mohs Clinc operates in the Parkdale Clinic of the Civic Campus. I am not going to dwell on the details except that I had three surgical processes and a skin graft to my nose over a period of approximately eight hours. It was painless and when I went home I knew that the basal cell had been totally removed. My Thanks to Dr. Mamalak and his staff. However there is a problem – this clinic only operates two days a week. Funding is an issue and yet the province just announced several millions for cancer treatment in Eastern Ontario but SKIN CANCER did not appear in any of the literature. Why not? Skin cancer is not exactly a minor form of cancer. The day I was at the clinic, there were seven people there for Mohs surgey and numerous others for follow up for their past surgery. The only other clinic is in Toronto. Do they only operate for two days a week. No. I have started lobbying my MPP Yasir Naqvi and Premier Dalton McGuinty to increase funding for the Mohs CLinic here in Ottawa and I urge you to do the same. This looks like it mite be Gary Ludington, b 1946 in Ottawa, Canada. His ancestry goes back to the US from the same line that the fellow who died in VT, Chistopher Prentiss Ludington did.. Gary Ludington's father also had the Prentiss name as his middle name. This branch is related to the Nancy Pearl Ludington line all the way back to Nathaniel and beyond. When Nathaniel moved up to upstate NY some of his offspring moved further wesin NY and eventaully over to Canada just as my line did.
