Dec. 4, 1948 - July 19, 2009 Janet Kay (Sherman) Ludington, 60, of Salem, died July 19, 2009, at her sister's home in Salem, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born Dec. 4, 1948, to Ray and Virginia Sherman of Lebanon. During her marriage to her former husband, Ernest Ludington, their family lived in Coos Bay, Scio, Jefferson and Salem. She is survived by children Ann Ludington of Idaho, Lisa Ludington of Oregon, and Jason and Crystal Ludington of Alaska; grandchildren Kassandra, Keeler, Dominic, Marissa, Amber, Minnie, Brian and Leland; siblings Barbara Newton of Lebanon, Ralph Sherman of Salem, Liz Buness of Wrangell, Alaska, and Becky Callicrate of Salem; several nieces and nephews; and mother Virginia Sherman of Lebanon. Her father Ray Sherman died May 4, 2006. The family requests contributions be made to NAMI or Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
