Luddington, Lloyd Edsel- 76, Manchester, Guysborough Co., died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at home. Born in Manchester, he was a son of the late James and Annie (Clancy) Luddington. He worked for the Department of Transportation and in forestry for many years. He was a lifelong farmer and the first in Manchester to own a registered Percheron Stallion. He enjoyed sharing stories and his great knowledge of local genealogy. He is survived by his sister, Jean (Charles) MacKeen, Guysborough; brothers, Kenneth (Olive), Aylesford; Robert, Pictou Landing; several nieces and nephews; his extended family, Joe (Helen) McGirr, Shelley McGirr, Susan McGirr-MacKeigan, Stephanie Grant, Dylan and Luke Grant. He was predeceased by his brothers, James, Earle, Burton and Ralph. Visitation will be held in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough Monday, August 1st from 2-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 2nd at 2 p.m. in Guysborough Baptist Church, with Rev. Warren Fitzgerald officiating. Burial in Manchester Cemetery. Memorial donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Had a little on him but a lot more now. He is from the Nova Scotia Luddingtons. Some of them were expelled from the US at the time of The Rev War and settled in NS.
