Hi All Is it legal for first cousins to marry? I always thought it had to be second? Paul

It is considered to be a "no no" by many societies as all too often the offspring have both mental and health problems from birth. But that is not always true in many cases of intermarriage. Consider the case of Col Henry Ludington who married his 15 yearl old first cousin, Abigail Luddington, and who had a couple of children from that marriage that were not "all there" . One son, Derrick, was feeble and unable to look after himself in life and the Col left some special conditions in his will for Derrick's care after the Col died. There was also a daughter, Abigail, that had problems too.
