Bennett St., Southern Pines. Mrs. Arnott was born in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of the late George Ludington and Lyle Manning Ludington. She graduated from Syracuse University. She was a kindergarten teacher and retired from the New York Teachers Association in 1978. Mrs. Arnott was a member of Community Congregational Church in Southern Pines. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert George Arnott. Mrs. Arnott is survived by her daughter, Nancy Martha Arnott, of Hillsborough; her sons, Robert David Arnott and wife, Cindy, of Coral Springs, Fla., and Douglas George Arnott, of Vestel, N.Y.; her three grandchildren, Kimberly Benedetto, Melissa Arnott Oliver and Lindsay Arnott; and her three great-grandchildren, Dom Benedetto, Christopher Benedetto and Nick Benedetto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 575 S.E. Broad St., No. 7, Southern Pines, NC 28387. The family is being assisted in Hillsborough by Clements Funeral Service, Inc.
