    3. Ron Yes, John died 1721, Benjamin mentioned in his will, baptisam not known. Benjamin married Ann in 1711, they had 5 other children, lastly Benjamin in 1730.n Then we have a burial in 1735 fo a Benjamin, who I would have thought was the son Benjmin? Benjamin the elder made his will in december 1740, so he most likly died not long after? all of his children were not over twenty one at time of making will. Then we have a baptisam of a Benjamin in 3 April 1740. Lastly ther is the burial in 1798, aged 68, giving a birth of 1730. So if we take the baptisam in 1730, and the burial in 1798 as one person, we are left with a burial in 1735, and a baptisam in 1740????? I am trying to check weather the baptisam might have been a adult one for Benjamin the elder before he died? I think Benjamin the younger did die in 1735, and they had another child in 1740, which they named Benjamin, and the death age is out in 1798??? I only see two cases where it is used as a first name. and one as a second name. However several Lud girls married men named Benjamin as a first and last name. I have a Benjamin Luddington (1), son of a John Luddington, (Ben mentioned in Johns will of 1721, so do not have baptism). Benjamin (1), he married a Ann Taylor in 1711, had a son Benjamin (2) in 1730, I have a burial for a Benjamin in 1735, so thought it was the Benjamin (2), I have another baptism for a Benjamin in 1740, the same year as Benjamin (1) will. he mentions his son Benjamin in the will, so I though he was the baptism in 1740. But I found a burial in 1798 of a Benjamin aged 68, making him born 1730. Benjamin is a very rear name for Luddingtons, I think there might be one other only in the UK that I know of. All the above are from Gainsborough, apart from the marriage. Any ideas? Regards Paul This list is adoptable.
