How awful, just hearing about your mother's accident makes my knees weak. So very sorry to hear that happened. My grandson split his index finger on a log splitter and it was so very painful but he still has his finger it just doesn't look the same. No Luck on a marriage date - it would have been in NY after 1920 and by 1930 their oldest son is 7 so, 1921/22. I found an obit for Anita Ludington Kitchin's brother Arthur C. Lud. So, she was still alive in 1948. Sam Kitchin – Tom’s father – is the current chairman of the board of the company founded by his father, Harry G. Kitchin. Sons of (Automotive) Pioneer Harry Kitchin owned a small spark plug and water pump manufacturing business with his father in Auburn, N.Y., during the automotive industry’s infancy. When competition from larger companies drove smaller firms out of the business, Harry became the first manufacturers representative for Duro-Metal Products, a hand-tool manufacturer. He moved to Richmond, Ind., where he seized the opportunity to open his own business as a manufacturer’s rep in 1928. The business became a family affair in 1948, when Harry’s son Sam came on board. He attended St. Meinrad Seminary for six years, then studied four years of theology at Catholic University, Washington, D.C., receiving his M.A. in Philosophy. In 1947, he was ordained at St. Meinrad and celebrated his First Mass at St. Mary Church, Richmond. His first appointment was as Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Church at Clinton in 1947. Subsequently, he was assigned in 1949 to Holy Cross, Indianapolis, served St. Mark Parish, Indianapolis, 1950-1959, then was named Spiritual Director of Providence High School in Clarksville until 1962 when he was appointed principal of the newly constructed Chartrand High School, Indianapolis. In 1969, he was appointed Pastor of St. Susanna at Plainfield. His 25th Jubilee of faithful service to the Archdiocese of Indianapolis was celebrated in 1972. He was later granted leave of absence at his request, then laicization. Until ! retirement, he continued caring for and enabling others as a Regional Director of the Green Thumb project, later known as Experience Works, the Senior Employment Community Service Program of the Older Americans Act. It took a lot of digging on my part but I finally located this lady by looking for Lud families from this area of Ohio.  She was a to Chas S Lud a local minister . Ruth was born April, 20, 1921 in Westville, Ohio, daughter of Clarence J. and Effie D. Watson. She lived in Washingtonville, Ohio, for 24 years prior to moving to Crandall Medical Center in October of 2009. A 1938 Sebring High School graduate, she was employed by Jarman Printing Co. until the mid 1950's. She was a faithful Evangelical congregational pastor's wife for 30 years and continued to contribute to area Society of Friends churches after their retirement in 1986. She was preceded in death on Nov. 19, 2009, by her husband, the Rev. Charles S. Ludington, whom she married on Jan. 14, 1955; and by sisters, Marybelle Schenk ; Ilora Simmons and a brother, Clarence "Red" Watson. She is survived by one sister, June Porter; two daughters, Lucinda (Tom) McGough and Robin Ludington; one stepdaughter, Rebecca (Terry) Nusser; six grandchildren and step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. He attended Coeur d’Alene High School, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He served in the Corporal Army Air Corp CBI (China, Burma, India), 1943 to 1946. He married Marion A. Jarvis on March 31, 1951. Mr. Ludington worked for 35 years with Caltrans in highway design. He enjoyed bicycling and camping. Mr. Ludington is survived by his daughter, Page Hensley of Penn Valley; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Trevor (Kathleen) Hensley of Salem, Ore., and grandson, Ryan Hensley of Chico.
