Hi All Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter. Just put the lamb in the oven, wine in the fridge, (hopefully to knock me out after dinner, when the wife puts on the La La Land she had me buy her instead of an egg). All the very best Paul
I am fortunate that most of the NY Ludingtons that I'm interested in were in the NY State 1892 census in Dutchess County, so 10 are listed, and a couple of related Luds in Delaware County. Many other counties in the NY 1892 census did not survive storage, including the neighboring county south of Dutchess, Putnam, whuich may also have had some Luds in it at that time. Thanks again Barb for all that pension, military and Kellogg history. Seems I had seen it all before, probably from You !The Ludington mentioned in the Kellogg history is a Lemuel Ludington, b 1759 and would fit my wanted Lemuel to a TEE. But there is no mention of where he was born only that his widowed mother ( a Kellogg by marriage ) m 2 a Ludington and they had this son Lemuel. Sure wish I knew where that son was born. CT? MA? NY? It started just last week when Paul asked if anyone knew of a William Nixon Luddington, but no one seemed to recognize him. Finally it was discovered that he was a Quaddington or so it seems. However that lead to other searches in which I thot I had discovered my missing Lemuel Luddington, father of my g/g/grandfather Seth Luddington (1788/1876). That in turn lead to Rachel, Barb, and others coming up with more Lemuel bits and pieces that seemed new to me. However after examining much of the Lemuel info I have not been lead any further in my searches as I had already discovered those Lemuels but in many other branches over time. Thank you for all the searching ! I did get some info on the woman that married my missing Lemuel, Patience Gurnsey and her family history. Much of that is new to me and I have now entered it. However I am still missing the ancestry of Lemuel Luddington, who shows in the 1790 census in Balston Spa NY. He is mentioned there in several reports in tax rolls, and in marriage to the Gurnseys, and as a son-in-law to Solomon Gurnsey in Solomon's funeral transcript. When did he marry ? where? where did he come from? Any siblings ? The Gurnesys came to NY from MA, was Lemuel from MA too. Any answers at all appreciated. Ron Ludington
Thanks Barb............I now know all of these Lemuels. The one born in 1748 ( also shows as 1747) was the father of the one b in VT in 1790. But the last one shown below is from my branch. He was a grandson of my Seth (1788/1876). He was b in Lapeer MI to Seth's son Johnathon and his wife Mary Ann Warboys. As mentioned earlier most of Seth's kids left the home and moved to MI in the 1850/60's period. Our member Juanita Smith Raymond from Lapeer MI is a direct descend from Johnathon. Juanita's mom was a granddaughter of Johnathon.
