Just a last minute reminder of the Ludington Reunion in Ludington MI, Aug. 17th thru the 19th.  At this time we have no idea of how many are going to show up. We do know that Paul and Sue from England will be there as will Vinnie Daquino ( the Sybil Ludington researcher) who has a wonderful presentation to show us.   Gwen and I plan on being there too but right now I am battling bladder cancer and my Dr's MAY have some surgery planned that will interfere with my travel plans for the event. Depends on where and when. It is generally frowned upon, but the legality varies from state to state in the USA. Genetically, there is little concern about ONE close match in a line. It is isolated communities where it happens frequently that have real issues. You double up on the good genes, but you also double up on the bad traits too. It is considered to be a "no no" by many societies as all too often the offspring have both mental and health problems from birth. But that is not always true in many cases of intermarriage. Consider the case of Col Henry Ludington who married his 15 yearl old first cousin, Abigail Luddington, and who had a couple of children from that marriage that were not "all there" . One son, Derrick, was feeble and unable to look after himself in life and the Col left some special conditions in his will for Derrick's care after the Col died. There was also a daughter, Abigail, that had problems too. The Luddington Cattle Co is operated by Ky Lane Luddington, a son of Lynn Gray Ludd, a son of Ralph C Ludd, a son of Hascal Butler Ludd, a son of Josiah Ludd, a son of David Ludd, a son of Levi Ludd the first Ludd to come to Upper Canada in 1800 from NY State. Levi's actual ancestry has not been established but we believe he was a son of Samuel Ludington a bro to Col Henry.   This branch moved from NY to Ontario to IN, to IA to OK to NE then back to OK over time. They have been cattle dealers and herd builders for many years.     Paul found a wonderfull  "Ludinton" item on eBay,RARE 1762 FRENCH & INDIAN WAR SOLDIER REQUEST FOR PAY  This request has to be from our Jude Ludington b 23 June 1725,in East Haven CT and who d in Aug 1774 Southampton MA. Jude also had a son called Jude but he was too young to have served in the war and there was no other "Jude Ludinton" b any time near that period. At some time Jude moved up the Connecticutt River and resettled there. His 2 sons, John, Daniel, and the father all appear on land maps in the mid 1700's as living within sight of each other near near West Springfield MA.  Many of you may recall that we visited a rededication of Daniels grave site at the Rock Valley Cemetery in Roanke MA in 2011 just  afew days before the 9-11 tragedy in NYC.
