MILDRED, WHERE ARE YOU?? DID YOU RUN OFF WITH JACKIE??? HELP!
I TOO HAVE A BIBLE RECORD FROM THE BLOOMS IN CC. OHIO SAYING STEPHEN MARRIED MURPHY, BUT I AM WONDERING IF THERE ARE TWO STEPHENS AND IF STEPHEN WAS REALLY STEPHEN ABNER OR SOME CRAZY THING LIKE THAT. I WILL TRY TO SEE IF JJB'S RECORDS HELP ANY AND APPRECIATE HIS TIME AND EFFORT; HOPE IT DID NOT DETRACT FROM HIS PLANS FOR THE TRIP. THE BLOOM NOTES CALLED HER ELIZ MURPHY AND SOMETIMES ALSO 'DELILAH' SO I WILL HAVE TO LOOK AT ALL THAT AGAIN. YOU WOULD THINK A MAN WITH SUCH A GREAT BIO WOULD KNOW HIS PARENT'S' NAMES. BUT I ASSUME ANN IS THE SAME ANN HOLDCRAFT AND SHE IS HIS MOM. THAT GAL SHOWS UP IN OUR 'COMFORT' PUZZLE AND NOW IN OUR 'STEPHEN' DILEMMA. SHE MUST BE THE PROBLEM. MAYBE SHE WAS A 'DELILAH' DOTTIE
THANKS, ELAINE, AS I DID NOT KNOW ANY OF THAT BUT, AS ACE WILL AGREE, I AM NOT GREAT ON THIS PUTE. I REALLY HAVE NO ONE TO HELP...BUT MY GRANDSON IS MOVING CLOSE BY SOON AND EVEN THE LITTLE KIDS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING ON THE PUTE. SO I APPRECIATE ANY HELPS. I GUESS THAT IS HOW MARY FOUND ME. DGO
YES, YES, YES, THAT IS THE ONE. WE BONKERS HAVE TO BE REMINDED. I THINK I PUT LUDINGTONVILLE--FIRST MISTAKE I EVER MADE. DOTTIE
GREAT, JJB. I DON'T NEED CAPS SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT. I JUST DO IT AT HOME WHEN I WRITE AS I AM BY A WINDOW WITH A LOT OF LIGHT AND I HAVE SOME CATARACT PROBLEM SO I JUST TYPE IN CAPS AS I LIKE TO GO FAST. AND IT HELPS TO SEE WHERE I AM GOING, RIGHT? GLAD YOU HAD A SAFE TRIP. DID I OVERWHELM YOU WITH REQUESTS??? DOTTIE
Good old John F Lud..............his bio states that his parents were Stephen Lud and Anna Hocraft but I show the mother as Liz Murphy and have marriage docs to prove that. So we cannot always believe those bios, because in so many cases they contain illogical info. I await Dotties summary on the info Jim Bob found Ron. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JAMES LUDINGTON" <jlud@sbcglobal.net> To: <LUDDINGTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2006 12:05 AM Subject: Re: [LUDDINGTON] CC, IND > I found some Luds and Hollcrafts, I just hope I coppied the right stuff > you need! Hi, JJB, I will be glad to do that, I really don't mind but will include a note on how it is done for all who might be interested. I will send the link to your email address. Just as a point of information for everybody, if there is something that you want to see from the list archives, it is very easy to look for it without having to wait for a helper. Go to _WWW.Rootsweb.com_ (http://www.Rootsweb.com) , there is a menu across the top of the page, click on "mailing lists", go to surname on that page and click on "L", find "Luddington" click on that, on that page you get all kinds of instructions about subscribing and unsubscribing to the list plus searching and browsing the list archives, click on "Search the Luddington archives" then choose a year you want to search and enter a term and you are on your way. I chose 2006 and "Comfort" was my search term. The search returned 54 records of postings with the word "comfort". I selected the one I wanted and it is on its way to JJB. I would really suggest to some of the "newbies" that they spend a little time searching the archives because there is a LOT of good information there. Have a great day, Everybody, Elaine
This is news. Where did the will come from? If it was from a Surrogate Court could you let me know where? In proving wills, they have to send a copy to all of the relatives and then list their names. Ed. Sorry to hear that your family lost such a great person! James I can't prove yet that I am connected to Elisha but it is what makes the most sense. No promises, with the prices of air fare and all, but I am going to try to get to NY in July. Time is so limited when I am there because I have to split my time with research, and visiting family and friends. If I'll be able to I will let you know. I found online- A genealogy of a Smith and Bryant Family. It was written in 1938. It has a section on William Ludington and his decedents. Since I am too new to this research I don't know if it is correct and of course Joseph is not in it. Ron would you like me to send you a copy. It is 20 pages. I could try to copy it as a PDF and send. If it has any new information then you could share it. Hi, Ron and Dottie, The only reunion I heard anyone mention was a possibility of one in Ludington, Michigan.

I found some Luds and Hollcrafts, I just hope I coppied the right stuff you need! Some of those court cases had a ton of paper work so I coppied the main pages of each. I found afew Luds in the obit news papers, one was a John F. Lud that passes away in 1913 and it had his pic in the paper. He had a great few years as a cival war hero and was wounded several times in alot of scirmishes. He died in an insane hospital but it said he was very well liked by everyone. Hi Elaine, I wouldn't mind having that breakdown on the Comforts again if you wouldn't mind? My email address is jlud@sbcglobal.net Thanks JJB M Inoue <meinoue@cox.net> wrote: Hi Elaine and thanks for the warm welcome. I am afraid your years of experience have me a bit confused. Can you help me sort out the Comforts you speak of. I assumed the Comfort on the 1820 Census was Comfort son of Comfort grandson to Elisha. Was I incorrect. Perhaps some of you can send me a genealogy report so that I could get an idea of the different lines that run down through the Ludington's (?) (p.s..
