    3. I have found many, many sites on the battles of Sackett Harbour and the surrounding areas but none of them mention light artillery units for the US. Lots of British and Canadian. Had a thought. During the American Civil War there were quite a few brother vs brother, son vs father, etc situations. Has anyone researched the idea that some of the Ludington/Luddington ancestors from England were in the service to the king during the War of Independence and perhaps fought against some of the Luds who were fighting for independence? Verrrrrryyyy Interesssssttttting. Fred (Ace) Jones

    3. I got tickets to NY. I leave July 22nd and will be up County by July 29th. My plans are going to Pawling Cemetery, Poughkeepsie Surrogate Court, and the Putnam Historical Society. Ron since you been there or if you have any thing else I should probably look at let me know. The Poughkeepsie Surrogate Court is a bit more difficult to search than the one in Carmel. It is self service and you have to go to a basement and take files from cabinets but I am plan to spend a day there!! That is if there is anything to be found and as soon as I get back I'll let you all know what I find. Thanks for informing me that I might find Olean news on the web.....I love searching and then forget how much and what is out there. Happy summer. Nancy Ludington Brash(now Hume)

    1. Re: [LUDDINGTON] Luddington/Ludington site at MyFamily.com
    2. Hi, James, Thanks for the kind words but I promise you, you do have lots of interesting stuff to upload to the site. Everybody does....just upload the Ludington/Luddington data that documents your research or other memorabilia that you come across. Even if it does not relate to your direct line, it will relate to somebody and be helpful to them. It is delightful to see things that are part of the lives of our famous Luds but the not so famous are very interesting, as well. I hope none of you will be shy about sharing. If you are not sure about uploading to the site, just contact Rachel or me. Her computer skills are so much better than mine but either of us will help. Have a good evening, everybody, Elaine And, please don't forget....we need your first and last name to send invites....MyFamily.com will not let us do otherwise.
