    2. Karen Bush
    3. Hooray -- looks like we have been migrated successfully. Remember the new address for the list is Luddington@rootsweb.com It would help if some of you would send a message to the just to make sure everything is set okay. Karen Luddington List admin

    1. Attention Digest Subscribers
    2. Karen Bush
    3. Under the new system, you cannot sub both to Digest and List modes with the same address. If you are, when the list migrates, you will be only in digest mode. So you might want to sub with a different address for Digest. Karen Luddington List Admin

    1. Message from List Admin - Please Read
    2. Karen Bush
    3. Hi Everybody, The list is set to be mirgrated to the new software system tomorrow (Wednesday). It should go smoothly and most will not notice any difference, especially if you are on regular mail. A few things to look out for: The main change for everybody is that the new address for posting will drop the "L" - new address after we are migrated will be Luddington@rootsweb.com If you get no mail tomorrow, check the list archives to see if there has been any messages that you have not received. I will be sending a few messages to test out the list tomorrow -- but remember I am in Arizona and get up later then you who live in the east ;-) Check your spam or junk mail folders and tweak them if necessary to teach them to accept mail from Rootsweb and the list. If you have an AOL address, please check this. Digest version is in plain text mode. If you notice significant change or you cannot read it, let me know. There is an option to put an individual on MIME mode and if needed we can do that. Good luck! :-) Karen

    2. Karen Bush
    3. Glad you are back. You haven't missed too much and the list migration to the new system hasn't happed yet. A-C lists were done and then several places like AOL and Comcast started blacklisting the mailing list, so everything else is on hold until the problems are resolved. I'm keeping an eye on things and will let everyone know when the migration takes place. By the time Luddington list goes through things should be running pretty smoothly and you may not notice anything happening at all. I hope I did not miss too much. Had a surprise visit from a kidney stone which was not at all expected but never less caused a lot of concern. Wiz.

    1. From List Admin - Please Read
    2. Karen Bush
    3. Hi Folks, Rootsweb is changing over to a new mailing list system. We are supposed to be migrated to the new system next Wednesday, August 23rd. There is a schedule of when lists are being migrated at: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/migrate_sched.html Most of you will not notice anything happening, but a few may have some trouble. You can reach me at karenbush@cableone.net if you have any problem. The biggest change is that the letter "L" will be dropped from the list name. Luddington-L@rootsweb.com will become Luddington@rootsweb.com I understand, though, that you will still be able to post with the "L" address, it just won't be necessary. The important thing will be your own Spam Filters. You will have to watch and tweak them to allow the list mail through. AOL users may have a temporary delin in getting list mail on AOL's end. Be careful to check you spam folders and if you find list mail there click THIS IS NOT SPAM button and read the mail in your INBOX so that the filters will be trained with regard to the new server of your list. If you are subbed to both the Digest and List version you can no longer do so under the same address. The digest numbers will be out of sequence during the changeover. I will try to keep you posted about the change over. If you have any trouble, remember to contact me directly. Karen Luddington List admin
