    2. Hi, Mildred, I understand. It is about the same with us. I did check a website and it found that Memorial Day will be celebrated on May 26, 2006 by the government offices. That will be the three day weekend. Of course, there are still plenty of us that celebrate it on the traditional day. Elaine

    2. I don't really know when it will be celebrated. Since I retired, 25 years ago, I don't pay much attention to holidays. Mildred

    2. Hi, Mildred, I know that is the official day. Do you think that will be the day designated by the Post Office and other government offices. I really have not checked and do not know. Also, I had a thought a few minutes ago about timing this for when school is out which is usually during June. I don't have any children to consider with this date. Would that affect some others being able to come? I am flexible. My husband just wants us to be home by July 1. He is very active with the local emergency preparedness group and hurricane season will be starting about that time. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Elaine

She did send me a copy of the notes Randy left with them and a record of Poor House Deaths, 1836-1850. On that list was the name of Henry Ludington, who died March 10, 1847 at the age of 19. There was no other information about him. He doesn't seem to fit in any Ludington family that I know lived in the area but he could fit with Lafayette's family per the 1840 census. There is one male between 10 & 15 whom I cannot name. Henry would fit because he would have been 12 in 1840. Does anybody else recognize this Henry?
