    2. Hi, Barb, and Everybody, I apologize. I realized I should have asked Barb directly immediately after I sent the note to the list. Because I have a brick wall and cannot get through 1840, I really wanted to find a candidate for the DNA testing from his one son, who had children. I traced that son's male children and male grandchildren to the present time and none are still living. Your dad had brothers. Did they have sons? If not, you can go back to your great-uncles to see if they had sons and grandsons that might be willing to take the test. Good luck, Elaine

    3. The tests that we have done so far are only for the male Ludds/Luds and are called Y-DNA tests because they examine the Y chromosone that is passed down from father to son, to son , to son etc. Thus David Luddington in England and Ronald Ludington in Woodstock Ontario, Canada, (and several other testess) have at least 23 of the same markers that are identical. That means that we all came down from a man who existed many years ago...........in our case it is estimated that may well be about 7 to 10 generations back in time, and that is only a "good guess". Barb's father, if he were alive, could be tested and may well be connected to the same ancestor............or as has been found in recent testing there may not be a connection as the line has been broken at one time or another. A Luddington adoption? An unfaithful wife? infidleity? a gene malfunction? Many things could have happened to break the Y- DNA string. Us Luds and Ludds seem to be a having a good unbroken strain so far. 3. A little more clarity to my last message re David''s Y-DNA test. David has a match to these people in a 12 marker test which means they have a common ancestor somewhere back in time. David Luddington davidluddington@hotmail.com ( in England) Mr. Wesley Jay Wilson Wwilson531@aol.com (not sure who he is but I asked ) James C LudingtonJames. ludington@sympatico.ca Charles Frederick Ludington LudcoGun@ComCast.Net Alfred Ludington ronlud@mail.com (uses my address) Charles W Luddington luddington@aol.com Ronald Edward Ludington ronlud@mail.com And he is only 1 marker away for the following folks which means the ancestor is probably further away in time but because there is only one maker difference the differnce may also be caused by a "fluke of nature" and the relationship my possibly be the same as the list above. Some interesting DNA news..............a Luddington ( David Luddington of England ) , and quite new to our list has just recently had his Y-DNA tested...........the results are astounding considering that he lives out of N America where most of us live.. I do not know just who the Wesley J Wilson is..........do any of you know him?? I know all of the other Luds from previous tests. The DNA people claim that David had a 99% chance of having a common ancestor with the first list and a little percentage chance of a relationship to the second list. 3. Hi I hope everyone will come and share their LeLaCheur families history here for everyone to see. I have quite a bit of info for the short time I started to research my fathers moms family. Jessie Christine LeLacheur was the daughter of William and Catherine Christina McKinnon,LeLacheur. William was the son of William who married Jessie McKensie in Providence Rhode Island. They are buried there. William was son of Jean and Elizabeth Sencabaugh , LeLaCheur who moved to Iowa with their family.William and brother Paul stayed in Rhode Island and had families there. William and Catherine had my grandmother iand at least four siblings I believe in Rhode Island. Beatrice Ruth who married William Charles Horne in Nova Scotia, Marion E. who married a Richmond in Texas ans she is buried there. Marion served over 20 years in the WACC and was one of the first woman to serve in Vietman. Jessie my grandmother married William Henry Luddington in Nova Scotia. Also a set of twins I believe were born one boy William and a girl Christy born !4/Feb/1886 and died same day? The family story was they died of cholera but the Rhode Island Archives looks like they were stillborn or died shortly after birth. Most of these are buried in the Lorne Street Cementery New Glasgow Nova Scotia. I have more info if anyone is interested. Thanks for sharing. Barbara George Albert LACHEUR Country: State: Date Submitted: November 9, 2003 Notes: Married Christina Maine Thomson. He was a Journeyman & Baker. Had a son in 1909 named Albert George Le Lacheur. 2. I have a George H. Luddington that I found in the 1880 U.S. census in the village of Lake Benton, Lincoln Co., Minnesota a couple of years ago that I have never followed up on. According to the census he was born in England ca. 1858; his father was William who was also living with them. His wife, Mary A. ? was from Wisconsin, born ca 1857, unknown parents. They had 1 daughter Laura E. Luddington born in Wisconsin around 1879. This may be a little early for your person but I wasn't sure about the middle name so wanted to pass this along to you.
