Hi, Jimbo, Just a quick response to tell you that I know you were kidding and so was I. I sincerely feel sorry for all the trouble the weather is giving people this year. I was just being silly. We love in Kissimmee, a couple of hours from Tampa. I love it here. We probably should take our chat off list because everything we are writing i s going into the archives. But, I did want to respond regarding the Ludington Cemetery on list. Yes, I have been past it many times but never stopped. At the time, I would not have recognized the names, anyway. Rachel Bryan, and possibly others who participate in this Luddington group, is descended from that family of Ludingtons. They were quite prominent in the Valparaiso area. Take care, Elaine
As Elaine explained Elmer appears to have been adopted so he will be of no use to us for Y-DNA testing. Not sure if he is even alive nowadays. Hey Jimbo and Elaine that Lud Cem in Valpo is full of Luds that came down from Levi Lud ofDutchess NY and later Oxford, Upper Canada. One of Levi's sons and a grandson both settled there and had large families, some of which are still there in Porter co IN. Rachel's ancestors come from that lot too. I'm hoping to do it like Ron does when I retire, go south in the winter. Now I was told there is a Ludington cemetary up around Valparaiso, had you ever been there? Anyway I was just kidding about Florida people, they are the smart ones!! If it's been thirty degrees there you must be kind of north Florida? Oh you Florida people make me sick!! It's been around zero for a week with chill factors as cold as 20 below zero. My heat and light bills have been well above five hundred a month and they say it is expencive to live in Florida?? You lucky people, I'd be metal detecting down there. Jimbo Dek623@aol.com wrote: Hi, Everybody, Ron, I don't think you have access to the 1930 census, so I hope you don't mind that I did a quick search of the 1930 and found that Elmer was the adopted son of Edward and Emma Luddington. Glad you found him for Paul. I did not have time to look as we had a death from a heart attack last nite at our clubhouse. I was MC for a "Comedy Nite at the Cabaret" and the fellow was the last one to say a few jokes when he suddenly keeled over. We tried CPR etc but he must have had a massive attack and was gone from us. Needless to say the whole park is traumatized and will be for a few days as he was such a nice guy. It's only 64 hear right now at mid afternoon. Hmmmmm...the only Charity Ludington I have was a daughter of Samuel Ludington, bro to Col Henry. Even then I have little except that she is listed as a daughter but has no vitals at all. She was probably b about 1775-85 period so would not fit into this Blake scenario from what I see.
