Hi has anyone found anything new in the free searching at Ancestry.com? I amsearching several family trees and not very successfully I might add :( I'm glad I didn't pay to search or I'd be awful disapointed. Is there any tips for searching ? Paul, while nothing definite has been agreed upon....we have tentatively scheduled a reunion for Memorial Day weekend in Clinton County, Ohio. Memorial Day is Monday, May 26, 2008. I am flexible and another spot and time is fine with me but I do plan to make a trip to Ohio next Spring for genealogy research. Also, I am not the big leader of this...I was just the first to mention for that date and time. Everybody is welcome to chime in. We are thinking of a reunion in 2008 probably in OH as that is central to many of our group from PA, IN, MI etc. And only a 250 mile, or so, trip for me. I await your latest discovery. I will enter your name in the Luddington Group roll call now too. Brick wall Fred Well, Fred, it is good to know that someone else is working this problem. I have traced the family to present day almost completely. There are a few births born after 1930 that I have not found but the last candidate for Y-DNA died a few years ago in California. At one time or the other, I have subscribed to all the paid genealogy sites available on the internet and searched them thoroughly for something on him without success. I still have a subscription to Ancestry and to New England Historical Genealogical Society. Now, I will learn as much as I can at the Family History Center. To my knowledge, the only primary data we have on Comfort, son of Comfort, is his mention on Capt. Comfort's will, and a couple of very early census sheets. I know of no primary record showing his marriage to Mary Mulkin or to Rebecca Dayton. I know of no land that he owned, recorded births of children, or will that he left, even when he died. There are lots of statements about these things on the net on family trees but no actual primary documentation that I have seen. On the net, it is frequently mentioned that he had a daughter, Loretta, as his first born child. I believe that Rachel, Ron and I have disproved that by proving her to be the first born daughter of Nathaniel Stewart and Huldah (Tuttle) Luddington. I think you can see that I don't give up easily...so, together, we will get this fellow tied to his family. Elaine ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Hi, Everybody, I think all of you know I try to stay active with Ludington/Luddington research. And, I think all of you know of my quest to find the parent of Lafayette Ludington, born 1800, in New York. I am fairly well convinced that he is the first born son of Comfort and Mary (Mulkin) Ludington but I can't find any proof. You may not know that I live in Kissimmee, Florida and only 10 miles from the Mouse House. If any of you plan a trip to Walt Disney World, don't forget to let me know you are coming so that we can get together. Has anybody heard from Dot Olson? I haven't heard anything of her or noticed a posting from her in months. I have been watching for her to check in for roll call but she hasn't. In a few days, I will be unsubbing because grandchildren are coming for a visit plus my husband and I are going to be away for a while. I expect everything to be O.K. with the site at MyFamily but if you have any problems, I am sure Rachel will be able to help you. Take care, and be well! I show marriages between the Luddingtons and the Moulthrops on several occasions but no Abigail Luddington or Moulthrop was b on that date shown as 1786. I show an Abigail Baldwin b in 1786 m to Theron Luddington in CT and at sometime they divorced as he shows m to another woman before his death in 1817. This also occurred in CT but not in the Branford area. I just got this info it hindges onto an email I sent here yesterday. Cannot one unravel this? Or is it all bad info? Barb Abigail Moulthrop married Harmon R. Byington, North Branford Feb 1811 Posted by: Grace Lasker Coffman (ID *****0111) Date: October 31, 2002 at 10:24:59 of 58 I just received this bit of information: February 1811- Harmon Byington married Abigail Moulthrop in North Branford, CT, by the Rev. Charles Atwater, 2nd minister of the North Branford Congregational Church. Now, I had previously been told that Abigail was a Luddington and was NOT able to find *anything* on an Abigail Luddington. Perhaps it is because Abigail is a Moulthrop! Does anyone know anything about this? Here is other information about Abigail I have: Born: East Haven July 1786, died August 20, 1865 in Guilford. Abigail and Harmon had the following children: Charles B. Jane Ann Darlington H Myron H. Eliza A. Jared. Now, in a census I had found, I found Jared living with an Anna Moulthrop aged 75 in 1860. Perhaps an Aunt? Does anyone have any information that may be of some help in this very strange turn of events? I would *surely* appreciate anything! Does anyone know any possible parents Abigail's might be? Who were the Moulthrops living in North Branford/East Haven/New Haven circa 1786? Thank you so much for your help, Grace _________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE Web site, company branded e-mail and more from Microsoft Office Live! http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/mcrssaub0050001411mrt/direct/01/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to LUDDINGTON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
