    3. The Lima News - Lima, Ohio Tuesday, May 5, 1998 GORDON L. LUCAS, 72, died at 12:45 p.m. May 3, 1998, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Hitchens, Ky., to Benjamin H. and Jessie M. Farrow Lucas. On July 18, 1954, he married Mary Verbraken, who survives. Mr. Lucas co-owned Lucas Brothers Motor Sales & Services and retired after 25 years in 1980. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Pilgrim Holiness Church and Pilgrim Lighthouse Church. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and a member of the American Legion. Survivors also include two daughters, Linda (Howard) Best of Port Clinton and Anita Thompson of Lima; a brother, Jay C. Lucas of Lima; two sisters, Alberta Snow of Lima and Jenny V. Ruark of Cambridge, Md.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood and Paul Lucas; and a sister, Marcella Martin. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bible Missionary Church, 1450 N. Eastown Road. The Rev. Don Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. ###
