I have both these names in my tree and wondered if we are somehow connected. Below is short version of the line I am searching: I do not have a lot of information on this line. Descendants of BENNETT/BENEDICT/BENET LUCAS >> Olson, I part, below is what I had previously sent concerning my oldest identified LUCAS/COON ancestors. My Dad says we have relatives in Texas, but can't provide the connection. Let me know if you would like me to send a LUCAS GEDCOM. Jim Lucas, Arlington, VA My oldest LUCAS ancestor that I've been able to find is Benjamin LUCAS, my 3dggf. Benjamin was born 1 May 1794 somewhere in NJ. I have been unable to find his birth place or parents. I do know he migrated from NJ>KY>Cincinnati, OH and finally arriving in Clinton Co., IN about 1830/31. Along the way, he met and married my 3dggm Elizabeth COON who was born 8 Jan 1797 at Red Rock, Luzerne Co., PA. They met and married somewhere in the migration to Clinton Co., IN. I have not been able to determine where or when. Now to your question about William. Benjamin and Elizabeth had 11 children. Their second child was named William and he was born, according to what I've found, in 1819. If I had to venture a guess as to where William was born, I'd say somewhere during the migration, perhaps Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati, Ohio. From 1830/31 on most of my LUCASES lived and worked in the Clinton & Boone Co., IN area.
