Unless I've been misinformed, "my" known LUCASes start with a Robert (about 1630 - 4 May 1740). Then come three Edward Lucases and finally my 4g-grandmother Elizabeth Lucas (first cousin of Robert Lucas and sister of Mary, Mercy, Robert, Susannah, Drusilla, Phoebe, William, et al). How does your Basil/Thomas/etc. line connect to mine? The link must go pretty far back. According to my notes, there was another Lucas-Buckles marriage, too. Susannah Lucas (1773-1883) m. Robert Buckles; children William, John, Joseph, Elizabeth. I can't place Robert Buckles. Susannah looks just the right age to have been the sister of my 4g-grandmother Elizabeth, but I seem to recall that she was really Elizabeth's first cousin, the daughter of William Lucas and Susannah Barnes.
