    2. Other devisees were his sister's children. Isabel Lucas by her will names her bro-in-law Rob't. Lucas, & sister-in-law Mary Lucas, wife of Rich. Margerum, among her legatees. But the disposal of her estate fell "between heirs of her own blood kin"; the Shaws, Hardings, Moons, etc. Robt. Lucas, second son of Edw. I, mar. 1-Sarah Crossdale, 2-Sarah Atkinson. He died June, 1784, leaving a widow, Sarah, several children & grandchildren of the names of Lovett, Taylor, Spencer, Pittsfield & Linton. Edward Lucas I four daughters: 1. Mary mar. 1732 Rich. Margerum 2. Margaret mar. 1731 Abraham Margerum 3. Ann mar. 1741 Michael Hutchinson 4. Elizabeth mar. 1741 James Moon, Jr Edw. I youngest son: Edw. II b. Dec. 24, 1710, died Oct. 3, 1777. Mar. 1-Mary Darke, dau. of John Darke of Bucks Co., Pa., born 1709 m. in 1729-30. This same Edw. II was not names in his father's will, but in early Bucks Co. records a settlement is mentioned proving his share had been given to him earlier, prior to his emigration. He had owned the Lucas plantation in Middletown Twp. Pa., of which he conveyed, in 1749, a half part of this land containing 218 1/2 acres, to his bro. Robt. for 100 pounds. What was done with the rest is not known. Though possessed of much property & considerable welth, the life of this Edw. II who moved to Va., in Jefferson Co., near what is now Shepherdstown, was filled with much tragedy & sorrow, as the following list of his children shows: First wife, Mary Darke: Children- Elizabeth b. Jan. 31, 1735, mar. Wm. Hall. John, b. Feb, 25, 1736 - died an infant. Edw. III, b. Dec 3, 1738, d. Mch. 19, 1809. Was wounded by Indians at Laurel Hill - Left illustrious descendants - see note at the end of this article entitled Edw. Lucas III. Robt. b. Nov, 19, 1740. Wounded in Western Virginia, was killed in Nashville, Tenn. Wm. b. Jan, 18, 1742, moved to Scioto Co., Ohio. Mary Darke Lucas died in 1743. Children of Edw. II & second wife, Eliz: Mary b. Mch. 20, 1745 (twin, who died in infancy). John b. Mch. 20, 1745 (twin, who died in infancy). Benj. b. Jan. 6, 1747, killed in Kentucky by Indians. Ann b. June 24, 1749, mar. Wm. Baldwin. David b. Nov. 22, 1750, went to Tenn. & was killed by Indians Andrew b. Oct. 5, 1752, wounded by Indians in Tenn, shot in back of neck, ball passing out of mouth, saved himself by getting into a stream of water. Mary b. Oct. 24, 1754. Job b. Nov. 2, 1757, went to a southern town with his cousin, Ben. Wm. Darke, they went east & died in army, near Phila. of smallpox.
