I have been reading so much about the VA Lucas families, and I thought I would add my Lucas. I have no idea who Morgan's parents or siblings were, but an old story handed down through the family is that he was in some way related to Gov. Robert Lucas of Ohio. I have found no link. It is possible that he is related through the Reeds who were associated with Robert Lucas. Sarah Jane Lucas married Joseph Reed, Catherine Ann Lucas married Arthur O'Hara Reed, my husband's line, and Minerva Lucas, my grandmother, the daughter of John Edward Lucas, married Samuel Reed. This makes my husband and I double third cousins. My mother told me many years ago that the Reeds and Lucas's had intermarried for many years. The Reeds are descended from a William Reed, b. 1786, in Ireland or at sea, and Margaret Keller, b. 1805, in Ohio. I really wish someone could help on this Lucas (or Reed) family.
