    3. My great-great-great-grandfather Thomas Lucas was born around 1830 in Quorndon, Barrow-upon-Soar, Leicestershire. He married Susannah Glover and they had several sons (some of whom died of TB) including Samuel Lucas and my great-great-grandfather Stephen Lucas. Thomas was a baker in Quorndon. Samuel had a daughter called Helen Lucas who lived in Leicester. Stephen (b. July 22nd, 1850 in Quorndon) married Clara Swain (b. July 8th 1854 Nottingham). They had two children who survived past childhood Clarice Ethel Lucas (b. September 26th 1875 in East Ville Street, Nottingham) and Hedley Stephen Lucas. Stephen was a lace maker and grocer at 20, Manning Street Nottingham. Hedley (b.January 2nd 1878 at 38, East Truman Street, Nottingham) was my great-grandfather and he married Edith Couch (b. March 16th, 1875 probably around Torquay). Hedley was trained as a cook but fought in both Boer wars and died at Arras in WWI - May 21st, 1917. Edith died in March 1922 in Skegness, Lincs. They left three children Clara Noel Lucas (b. December 22, 1903), Hedley Paget Lucas (b. November 11, 1914) and Stephen Charles Lucas. Clara did not marry but Hedley married Constance Chambers (b. February 2nd, 1896 d. October 28th, 1977) Stephen is my grandfather and was born on February 28th, 1906 in Hull, Yorkshire and is now 92. He married Dorothy May Cook (b.
