Dear Eric and list: It was most generous of you to share your info, and with a garage full of stuff...I'm sure your wife is tickled you find time for setting up your computer. <grin> Anyway, I have been on a blind search to find my Lucas Line (my mom's). I have come up with a little info and wonder if you or anyone else out there can help me further my research. PLEASE! The 1910 Arkansas census for Greene County has dwelling number 40/40 with 2 heads of household. This is unusual. James L. Dollons is listed as 1st head then: Ed C. Lucas (believe Edwin) is 2nd head with wife Ada. (I believe Ed is my ggrandfather, he m. Martha ADA Beatty.) Ed is 49 and m. 2 times. Ada is 36 and m. 1 time. They were m. for 17 yrs. Children 6 number living 4. Listed children are Fred (male), Mabel (daughter), Maud (daughter), Hazel (daughter). Ages 18, 14, 9, 5 respectfully. Maybe Fred was not their child? The family put in a lot of road miles. Fred b. IL , Mabel b. TN, Maud b. KY, and Hazel b. MO. Ed shows b. MO-his father US and Mother US. Ada lists Father TN, Mother KY, herself KY. Assuming she gave the info because of the completeness of her family births. I'm leaning toward believing the 2 children she lists as dead could actually have been from one of Ed's previous marriages and very much alive. They would be: Harvey Wesley Lucas - my grandfather and his sister Lula Belle Lucas Overturf. I have found Harvey's Obit. It says he died age 58 on January 11, 1945. His tombstone says 1944. He is buried in Independence County Arkansas. He m. 2Alma Bessie Summers. his 1st wife was Hattie or Mattie unkn. The Beatty family was quite prominent and I traced Ed through them. Please help me trace this line backwards. I have more current info if I have any cousins out there.
