Sarah Doggett Shelton Lucas - Grainger Co. Tenn 1814 I am desperately researching the Shelton line, and am down to looking at all the names related to them. I wondered if anyone had any information on this particular Lucas line, and could tell me about them, such as where they came from, etc. Sarah was the widow of William Shelton, d abt 1812 in Grainger Co, Tenn. She then married Samuel Lucas and was again widowed by May 1815. Were there any children? Ages of Sarah and Samuel? I have seen reference to a Sarah Lucas will in McMinn Co, Tenn. in 1815, but cannot find it. Do any of you have it? Is this her or another Sarah Lucas? Sarah is the daughter of Miller and Mary Doggett, b abt 1736 Lancaster Co, Va, d 1807 Jefferson Co, Tenn. Her birth is probably between 1762-1780. Court records say William Shelton left minor children at his death. Were they also Sarah's or was she a second, third? wife?
