LUCAS DIES YESTERDAY Seventy-Eight Year Old Resident of Lynnville Dies at Home Lynnville, Feb. 12.-Special to The Daily News.-Mrs. J. F. Lucas, for many years a resident of this community, died last evening at about 8 o'clock at her home here. She was 78 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Friends church here. Mary Jane Coker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayborn Coker, was born on March 26, 1852 at Jacksonville, Ill., and was the oldest of six children. She was united in marriage on Jan. 8, 1874, to J. Fredrick Lucas at Prentice, Ill., and in 1880 they moved to Lynnville, settling on a farm near here where they lived until 18 years ago when they retired and moved to Lynnville to make their home. Surviving her she leaves her husband, J. F. Lucas, two children, A. L. Lucas of Des Moines and Mrs. Nelle Zimmerman of Newton., five grandchildren, two brothers, E. C. Coker of Reasnor and C. C. Coker of Nevada, Ia., and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Lewis and Mrs. Nora Lewis of Illinois. Four children preceded her in death a number of years ago. Lucas who died Wednesday evening at her home here, were held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the Friends church with Rev. L. Williard Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. A duet, "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" was sung by Rev. Waldo Reece and Mildred Reece and a quartet number, "As We're Going Down the River One by One" by Rev. Reece, Mildred Reece, Mrs. Harley Guase and Harlan Meredith. Pallbearers were Ray Younkin, Owen Meredith, Ollie Quaintance, Pearl Kortright, Charles Bridges and Will Zimmerman. ***** * John J.
