Hello again, Henry LUCAS, my 6 X gt grandfather, born in 1644, baptised several children in Avening during the 1670s and 80s, his wife's name being given as Elizabeth. I have been unable to find the record of this marriage. Could it have taken place in the Newbury area of Berkshire, where he later sent his eldest son to be apprenticed to a weaver? There were certainly LUCASes in Newbury around that time. Could the family have come from there? Ever in hope, Bill (wjlucas@aol.com)
