    2. I am out here....still looking for William LUCAS who died in 1803 in Hardin County, KY. Wife's name when he died was Catherine DARLING LUCAS. First wife's name unknown (of course, she's my ancestor!!!). More info as follows: William Lucas was married (1st) before 1770 to __________. He married (2nd) a widow, Mrs. Catherine DARLING in Jefferson County, KY. Family tradition is that he fought in American Revolution (same paperwork on McMurtry families). My ancestor, Elizabeth Lucas, first married a Lawrence Jewell. When he died in a few years, she remarried James McMurtry. Their son, William McMurtry was my ancestor. Other children of William LUCAS were Cornelius, Abraham, John, and Nancy. Nancy married William Cubbage and Cornelius married Sarah Phelps. Elizabeth Lucas McMurtry died in Fredonia, Hardin Co., KY and James and the rest of the family moved to Henderson, Knox County, Illinois. James and Elizabeth's son, William LUCAS married Ruth CHAMPION. William was Lieutenant Governor of Illinois under Governor Augustus French. Anybody recognize a familiar name?
