Hi, Yes, I am descended from your eber's parents, Eber and Eunice (WOOLWORTH) LUCAS. Eber was b. Middletown, CT, and Eunice was b. Lewis co, NY. I am currently trying to finish a book, "The Long Trek West", the story of the migration west, after the revolution, of BLOOD, LUCAS, WOOLWORTH, COLE and related families from VT and CT through NY to IN, then IL, then on to WI and IA and beyond for some. Most of the LUCAS part of the family ended up in IN or IL. the book then picks up other families from VA. and Canada. Anyway, I have tons of Eber's ancestors, if you'd like it. Betty sullivan

Sarah Doggett Shelton Lucas - Grainger Co. Tenn 1814 I am desperately researching the Shelton line, and am down to looking at all the names related to them. I wondered if anyone had any information on this particular Lucas line, and could tell me about them, such as where they came from, etc. Sarah was the widow of William Shelton, d abt 1812 in Grainger Co, Tenn. She then married Samuel Lucas and was again widowed by May 1815. Were there any children? Ages of Sarah and Samuel? I have seen reference to a Sarah Lucas will in McMinn Co, Tenn. in 1815, but cannot find it. Do any of you have it? Is this her or another Sarah Lucas? Sarah is the daughter of Miller and Mary Doggett, b abt 1736 Lancaster Co, Va, d 1807 Jefferson Co, Tenn. Her birth is probably between 1762-1780. Court records say William Shelton left minor children at his death. Were they also Sarah's or was she a second, third? wife? If nothing else, can someone just give me some information on the line that went into Grainger Co, Tenn.? Thank you, Margaret Shelton mshelton@csus.edu

I am trying to find ancestors and relatives of Mary Aimee Lucas. Born 1870 in Florida possibly Tampa. Her father was an 'attorney-at-law'. She was married in Indiana in 1892 to George Henry Everett then moved to England. The only other information I have is that she must have had siblings who had a daughter named Eleanor living in Conn. in 1954

While reading an 1942 obit, I turned the newspaper clippin over and found: "Perhaps Tom Will Get His Wish if War Lasts Long Enough" Topeka, Kan.-(AP)-"I," concludes young Tom Lucas, "want to do something exciting." All he's done to date: Joined the royal Canadian air force in 1940, advancing to flight sergeant; Become mechanical instructor in Scotland for the Austrailian air forc; Spent two weeks with the New Zealand air force; Served with the British royal air force; Taught Rhodesian cadets for a while, then spent two weeks at a British navel base. After the United States entered the war, he came home to be inducted, and was assigned to an army air force school in Florida. Now he's home with a medical discharge. This may have been a Souix City, Iowa paper. I should have found this earlier for Veteran's Day. Thought someone might appreciate a story of a 20th Century LUCAS. Happi@webtv
Ray: I am enclosing a descendency chart for my Lucas family. The first (Thomas) was taken from a will found in Craven Co. SC. It is not proved that Thomas is Robert Harrison Lucass father. That is what we are working on. However, Thomas is the only thing weve FOUND that anywhere is a near fit. The rest of our line is taken from bible records that Robert Lucas (3rd generation) started with his family, stating he was the son of Robert Harrison Lucas. (The least he could have done was tell us who his grandfather was, dont you think!) The bible continues down into the family that moved into Lincoln Co. Miss. and then the part of the family that moved into Winn Parish, LA. I have more descendents, but only guess work on the ancestors. BUT the names of Thomas Lucas (1est gen.) children is carried down into what could have been his grandchildren and great grandchildren as we have several generations of John Cheeseman Lucas here. At this point in time, we just dont know and with the SC records being restricted from being sent to the branch Family History Centers, I have no way of doing research where I live, except through the internet. I do hope the family genealogist in SC put a ton of vital records (marr., wills, cemetery, etc.) on the web!
