Ladies and Gentlemen: I am starting a new process, after 3x of bouncing back to my address, I am going to unsubscribe addresses. It is nothing toward you, but my mail box keeps filling up, with permanent failures on e-mails. If you are having a problem with your email please write to tell me. I apologize if this offends anyone, but sometimes the errors do get to be a little much. Thank you, if there is a problem please email me personally, and not the list. Also some asked what flames are. It is when one person or many other people have a problem with what someone has said, and post it to the list. Also it can be a mass mailing problem, like advertising a business. Terri Lucas Lucas-L List Owner http://users.1st.net/mccaslin
I have some LUCAS' out of Green Co., OH, too. I also have a John R. LUCAS. But, the other names don't quite fit; can't swear to the accuracy of my data, though, because I haven't researched it myself; it was given to me by cousins. Still....... John R. LUCAS b. 22 Jan 1824, Green, OH +m. Elizabeth J. ? b. 1828, Green, OH --ch: Ann E; George E; Abraham H; Matilda J; Cynthia A; Thomas; Sarah E; Also have John's siblings: George B; Thomas; Abraham H; Mary; Phebe; Elizabeth Jane; Sarah Ann; Also have John's ancestors, possibly back to 1600's in Germany. Let me know if you need/want any of this. Since some of the given names are similar, it might be possible that my John was an uncle to your John???? karen negron fort worth VicHub wrote: > Terri, thanks for addressing those issues, I haven't seen the flaming happen > but who knows what can happen? > > Another issue. I have received a death certificate which I can not connect. Perhaps someone on the list has this LUCAS in their line. JOHN LUCAS born: Feb. 7, 1878 and died June 21, 1934 in Adams Co., Illinois. Parents listed on DC are Jacob LUCAS and Antonette blank both born in Europe. John was born in Chicago. Also have a Bio on Daniel R. Lucas, MD from Schuyler Co., Illinois. If either of these would be of interest to you, please e-mail me. Shirley Looking for information on William R. Lucas who married Harriet Waymack Barber.
Terri, thanks for addressing those issues, I haven't seen the flaming happen but who knows what can happen? Another issue. I'm ready to post a web page with genealogy. Is there issue about having people on there that are still living? Would one post birthdates for those still living? Names I am researching are mainly: LUCAS, POWERS, RUNYAN, all of Greene Co., Xenia area, Ohio. Most specifically looking for forbears of Elizabeth A. (Anna?) Lucas, 3/11/1840-6/18/1913 m: Anthony Andrew Powers 8/13/1857. Her parents were John R. Lucas, Jr. and Mary Burrell. A side issue, also looking for Eliz's sister, Mary Jane Lucas Lee Thanks, Vic Huber vichub@aol.com

Dear Lucas Researchers--I'm looking for the ancestors of James Lucas, born May 21 1744, m Charity (_____), born Feb 20, 1749. They resided in Corinth VT at least from the 1780s, when land records bearing his name occur. Their children, recorded in Corinth town records but not necessarily born there, were: Sarah, b Mar 30, 1768 Jennea, b 27 Nov 1769 Betty, b Feb 3, 1772 Susanna, b May 1, 1774, d 30 Jun 1846 (m Moses Wallis) Thomas, b May 18, 1776, d May 18 1853 (m Mehitabel, had dgtr Dorothy) Benjamin, b 1779 Molly, b April 22, 1782 James Lucas m 2nd Rebecca Huckins 20 Mar 1787 and had dgtr Rebecca. He died 8 Sept 1825 in Corinth VT. Since Corinth didn't exist in 1744 when he was born (it was founded in 1764), he had to have come there from elsewhere. Anyone with a loose James, born in 1744, probably somewhere in New England? Thanks, Michele
-- [ From: Shirley Thielbar * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- Will post the lineage I am researching again. I have other information on LUCAS's which I can not connect from Schuyler Co.and McDonough Co., Illinois. Perhaps, someone reading this information will have some information to share and we both will come out with additional knowledge .. WILLIAM R. LUCAS was born about 1839 in either Franklin Co., PA or TN. I say this because I have resources that give both states and am waiting on Military papers from the National Archives. He enlisted in the Civil War August 1861 at Littleton, Schuyler Co., Ill. (Co. A, 10th MO Inf). He died 17 Sept 1897 in McDonough Co., Illinois. William R. married HARRIET WAYMACK BARBER 30 April 1865, McDonough Co. She had been previously married to Samuel Barber who died in 1861. William and Harriet are listed in the 1870 and 1880 census for McDonough Co., with children: Christine Barber Millie Barber Armenia LUCAS Mary W. LUCAS Nancy E. BARBER 1880 list children: Armina LUCAS Mary M. LUCAS Rosa B. LUCAS William A. LUCAS James L. LUCAS Prior to the 1870 Census I am unable to link anything up on William R. Lucas. Have a lot of information on Harriet Lucas. Armina J. LUCAS was born abt 1867 in Colchester, McDonough Co., Illinois . She married Truman W. Willis 3 July 1884 in McDonough Co. Mary M. LUCAS was born about 1868 in Illinois Rosa B. LUCAS was born abt 1873 in Missouri and married Walter Hornbuckle 26 May 1890 in McDonough Co. William A. LUCAS was born abt 1875 in Illinois James Luther LUCAS was born 12 Dec. 1876 in McDonough Co. and died 19, Nov. 1939 in McDonough Co. He married Cassie Lambert 17 Oct 1899 in McDonough Co. James Luther and Cassie are where I fit in as a descendant of William R. Lucas. If any of this looks or sounds familiar, please contact me. I am at a dead end until I receive William's Military records. I know there were Lucas's in Schuyler Co., as well as McDonough Co. and am hoping some of them may connect. Shirley HPHT86B@PRODIGY.COM Goes like this starting with me: Shirley Thielbar, Earl Steele, John and Ada LUCAS Steele, James and Cassie Lambert LUCAS, William and Harriet Waymack Barber LUCAS.
What is flaming?
Does anyone have information on TODD LUCAS? He lived in Carter County Kentucky, he was there in 1879. Died there in the 1880's. His wife was EMALINE TYREE. His daughter HANNAH LUCAS married JOE STRALEY in 1879 at her parent's home in 1879. Please help! Penny L. Watson Wedam
Ladies and Gentlemen: I just wanted to let everyone know how the list is going. I counted the current subscribers of the List and there is over 100. I am impressed. It would not be possible without all of your support for this list. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your time and subscriptions. I would like to encourage all subscribers to send a list of the names they are researching along with the states. I would like to address one more issue. As a subscriber to other surname lists approximately 10, as probably with most of you are. I have recieved around 30 messages flaming a user. I DO NOT and WILL NOT condone this kind of behavior, but since we have such good members here, there is not much of a worry. Flaming should be dealt with privately and not on the list itself. This flaming was over a person submitting an a very recent obitituary to the list. I do not find this to be a problem (obitituary), except for flaming. I actually do encourage submitting an obitituary if the person's name was dealing with the current surname list. If any of you find something interesting please submit it. Most of the time this is where we get our best information and find relatives that maybe close or distant. Plus most of the time we can find very good friends, that have the same interest in common. Thank you for listening, but I felt this was an issue that needed to be talked about. Terri Lucas Lucas List-Owner http://users.1st.net/mccaslin
