    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: ktayca1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.loyalists/731.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: William "Buy" Cameron of Charlottenburgh also had a descendant who took a DNA test. There is a relationship between William Buy and the family of William and Donald h/o Margaret Fraser of Cornwall and Roxborough. ..they could be cousins or brothers or uncle/ aunt. No one knows much about where William Buy came from. Neither the Clunes Camerons nor the family of John Cameron "the wise" are related to William Buy or the William Cameron of this post. We are still looking for a descendant of Alan Cameron of lot 7 in the 4th concession of Cornwall whose descendants moved to South Gower and Brandon Manitoba who would be willing to take a DNA test. One of Alan's sons married another Cameron from the Pictou area of Nova Scotia and we suspect a family relationship. Kim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: young1451 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.loyalists/731.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Happy to help . There was a posting made by an Eileen Troutman on Sunday November 17 2002 concerning this said John Cameron of Clunes of Lot 6 Con 4 Cornwall Township . In this posting she has Christine Christy Cameron daughter of said John Cameron of Clunes Lot 6 Con 4 Cornwall Twp. married a Donald / Daniel Cameron son of William [Bud] Cameron and Catherine MacDonell . That would be a Cameron marrying a Cameron but as far as I understnd that DNA testing , the male line markers would not apply . However this would still make any issue from this later union ; the grandchildren of said John Cameron of Clunes . Hope this helps , but it is not my work , it is Eileen Troutman's . Cheers J. His Loyalist Claim is a must read for any possible Cameron relation . I think he was also connected to the KRRNY and Sir John Johnson , but do not recall if he was a tenant . He received Lot 6 Concession 4 in Cornwall Twp. Stormont County . There is a family Cemetery still located on that lot . Your William Cameron might be buried there . I am a descendant of Margaret Urquhart who married your ancestor James Peabody Stymiest. I came across this info back in October 2012 from the photo of the 2 of them and the info on your UEL Association application you posted. A cousin of mine in Montreal has been doing research and I have an extensive 15 to 20 page lineage from him showing all of our descendants from the Reverend John Urquhart back in the late 1700's. My grandmother on my mother's side was Eurnice Urquhart who had 8 children by Jerome Maher. Lived and died in Montreal. Three children (all in their 70s and 80's) still livng in Quebec/Ontario Canada and one daughter in Santa Barbara, Calif. area. My mother , Edna Maher Hyland, passed away about 15 yrs ago. I live in Lakewood, California, which is 22 miles southeast of Los Angeles. I will be forwarding your UEL info and other info to my cousin and those aunts and uncles mentioned who will be very intere! sted to see a photo of Margaret as it gives us an idea of what Rev. John Urquahart looked like possibly. To me she looks sort of like the actress Agnes Moorehead. Thank you for all of your hard work on your Stymiest ancestors. I also found info on the Charlotte Taylor site. One of my uncles in Montreal said he visited a monument in Miramichi that is dedicated to Rev. John. Please email me and say hello if you have time. We have many of these ancestors in common , so I will be as brief as possible . The Wood family lived on South branch Road Charlottenburg at what is now Sandy Woods subdivision [many Wood are buried St Andrews Church Williamstown] . The Alguire family are primarily Cornwall Twp Stormont County [earliest generations possibly buried on their own farms] . Mathius Snetsinger lived at Cornwall [ sons Michael Jr. , Christian, Friedrik , and George --- my line] , probably Trinity on 2nd St West] . The Cline family lived near Cornwall Centre north of Cornwall there is a small cemetary located there .The Manson family lived at Mille Roche , Moullinet , and Wales [west of Cornwall and all flooded by Seaway] stones may be relocated at Wales Road west of Long Sault . The Eamer family were located at Eamer's Corners north of Cornwall [ no known cemetery there] . John Duldreggan Grant had 17 children [including the one married to Dow who took over part of his f! arm] many of them buried at St Andrews Williamstown . There is also a very old graveyard called Glennoire located at Glen Road Charlottenburg [but no individual markers] . Very earliest settlers probably buried on their farms and the markers lost . I'm not sure how to get your email so I'll leave you mine: [email protected] A number of years back I was made aware that I have (we) Native ancestry. for the longest time I kept trying to find out whose lands exactly were settled upon by our relations. I found a good site here today: http://www.northglengarry.ca/en/communityinformation/resources/Stage1ArcheologicalreportFeb22.pdf which gives a comprehensive history of the lands prior to contact. The Native ancestry does come through my father's side - clifford grant phillips. We don't know much of anything about his father so it is most likely passed on through the Grants. It goes far back. I'm trying to find out more about Nina Jane Ann Morgan 1815-1891, wife of Peter, who on pg 73 says she was born in the Montreal area but was from Martintown who seems to be of a different bloodline than the rest of the Grants and spouses. I'm really curious about John the Robber - who he was etc, so am going to look more into history through the Barbadoes. It is nice to connect with a relative. Be well.
