Hi Grady, What a fascinating story. I am a Loy descendent but from a different line that came to the US from Baden-Baden Germany in 1733. We used to live in Flagstaff and so I am familiar with Loy Butte and Loy Canyon and always wondered about the Loy family they were named after.
