RE: Andrew Loy - E-Bay Angela, I can't thank you enough for your tireless search and sharing with the rest of us Loy researchers. A few weeks ago you posted an alert to us that E-Bay had Old Family Papers for sale on the Loy family titles Conditions of Sale. This paper was from a Andrew Loy estate dated 1830. Though I could not make out the name of the executor who signed the paper, still it named Andrew Loy as the deceased for whom the sale of his estate was taking place. The seller, perhaps even you, had stated that the paper had Virg on it which was interpreted to mean the state of Virginia. That happens to be the very state where I do research as my Loy line is definitely from there. Well, I won the bid for the paper, sent my check off, and received the goods a few days later. THEN the good part comes in. This past weekend, I was searching for some more tax records to finish my taxes for last year, when I ran across a printout from one of your other searches you had alerted us to. I had printed out a list of solders from the War of 1812. And lo and behold there at the top of the list was Andrew Loy from the 7th regiment in the Virginia Militia. I don't have any clear evidence at all if he is related to me in any way. But this is an important find and link in the Loy line in VA. Keep up the good work! Love, Barbara
