Dear Researchers, I realize that I have already warned all of you about this virus. However, it is still growing and propagating, and I decided that another warning was in order. As soon as I know of any address on our list that is sending out this virus/worm, it is being unsubbed and a message sent to the unfortunate individuals explaining the reason they were unsubbed. Since it responds immediately to any new messages sent to the infected computer, it appears to be coming from the list. It is not coming through the list. PLEASE remember, people are not sending this out, this virus/worm is doing it and the individual does not know it is happening, until someone tells them. Some are reporting that various anti-virus programs are detecting it, others are reporting their programs are not detecting it. The following message or something similar is sent to the unknowing individual, PRIVATELY, to AVOID embarrassment and hurt feelings. Dear listmember, I apologize that I had to unsub your address temporarily, it appears you may have acquired the Bad Trans Virus/Worm. To avoid it being spread this is the safest way to handle it. It is sending messages from your address that appear to be coming from this list. Unsuspecting individuals are opening it and becoming infected. This is nothing personal, you have done nothing wrong, we just need to take care of it. As soon as you get it taken care of please send me a note and I will gladly resubscribe you.
