I did find out that my greatgrandmother's maiden name was Rhoda Michel and she married my greatgrandfather John A. Loy. But...that's where I'm stopped. Can't get any where. Looking forward to any help you can throw my way. Again, thanks.

Jacob's father was John (Johannes) George Loy (Ley). I do have more info if you would like to talk. Michelle Loy Salina,Kansas
This is to those who are descended from Jacob and Mary (Frank) Loy, of the John George branch-- For the next 6 days, there is someone auctioning off an original deed of Jacob and wife Mary to the Prathers. The current price is $8.99, no bids yet. Steve Pegram brought this to my attention, and I knew you guys from John George would love to get this. This is the description and URL: This old deed or indenture is dated 30 March 1833 and is a conveyance between Jacob Loy & his wife to Enos Prather, William Prather & John Prather. [See my other auctions for more Prather deeds]. It's signed by Jacob and Mary Loy, who make an 'X', Benjamin Daniels (Judge). The witnesses signing are Hallam Hempstead, Robert L. West. It's for land in Pike county, described in some detail. It's folded up and docketed as recorded. Condition of the deed rates good. An interesting piece of ephemera, good for genealogy and history research. See my other auctions for similar items. Terms and conditions: * Shipping is actual cost via USPS to USA addresses only. * Unconditionally guaranteed authentic. * Money order or cashier's check ships within 24 hours. Personal checks require 7 days to clear unless you've purchased from me before. * Thank you for sending payment within 10 days. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ <http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1058166323>

Is Apples United Church of Christ in the same vicinity as Apple Evangelical & Reformed Church near Thurmont, MD? There are no more churches on Apples Church Road. There was a Morvian Church nearby. I will check and see if there is a Apple Evangelical & Reformed Church in Frederick County. There may have been a name change, even today one congragation out grows its building and then sells to another group, moving on taking their name with them. Barbara

Surnames: LOY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Eex.2ACIB/334.2 Message Board Post: My cousin, Margaret Massey, gave you the information; however, I thought I would confirm: Ezra N. Loy was born December 3, 1830 and died August 21, 1912 (source, State of Idaho death certificate). He was buried August 22, 1912 at Morris Hill Cemetery, 317 North Latah, Boise, Idaho 83706. My mother (Julia Annetta Loy) and I just purchased a marker for his grave in November 2001. We had searched the cemetery before and could not find his location. He was listed as LAY in the cemetery records. We have now corrected that error. THANKS for the suggestion to check the Missouri State Archives.
