Hi! I am seeking information on Catherine Loy Kehoe and her family. Catherine Loy, who was the daughter of James and Catherine Loy, was born on May 3, 1839, in Armagh County, Ireland. In 1865, she moved to Amboy, Illinois and two years later, on April 25, 1867, married Thomas Kehoe of Amboy. This couple had eight children including the following: Catherine Kehoe O'Toole (Chicago) (my great grandmother) John Kehoe (Amboy) Margaret Kehoe Fenton (Amboy) Emma Kehoe (Amboy) Patrick Kehoe Mary Kehoe Rooney (two children unknown to me) Catherine Loy Kehoe died on January 31, 1931, in Chicago at her daughter's house. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated! Sincerely, Mark Washburne

Just thought I'd let everyone know the Loy site is updated. I also FINALLY had time to cut down the file size on the Effingham Co., IL "unknown" pictures, so it's much faster loading. If anyone is of the Effingham Co., IL Loy branch (of John Henry and Mary Hodges Loy), or shirt-tail related enough to recognize someone, please look at these and see if you recognize anyone from other old photos you might have. Also, it would especially be nice for those of you with computers to print out these pictures and pass them along to your older kin who grew up in Effingham, who don't go "online." Maybe they might help us identify these. Thanks! Delores http://loyhistory.cjb.net or go to direct URL for pictures: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~loyhistory/unkpix1.html

VA actually) Loys during your research please. Edward W. Loy (b. 1835 in Belmont Co., OH) and his brother William H. Loy (b. 1843 in OH) appear to have both enlisted in Civil War from Parkersburg, W. VA. Edward's son, Lee Loy, was born in Parkersburg in April of 1862. Edward and siblings were children of Jacob Loy, Jr., who was born 1805 in Maryland (died 1850's in Monroe Co., OH), and was son of Jacob Loy, Sr. born about 1775. Jacob Sr. arrived in Belmont Co., OH prior to the 1808 tax rolls and died there shortly after the 1830 census. We are searching whom Sr's parents were. Jacob Jr. married Elizabeth Beckett in Belmont Co., OH on 13 Sept 1827. Thanks for any leads or direction. Teddy in CA
I think it must go by both driver's license AND voter registration as I found all my in-laws but did not find an\\my oldest son who has his license now for 4 years but did not vote yet.
I checked out the site, Angela, and was just as surprised of all the names that came up. It would be interesting to know how they get the information, as I only go by my first name with family. In business, school, mail order, etc. I go by Rochelle, so the only thing I can think of is the DMV records, where I do have both names on file. Some time back, when I was a novice to the internet, I put my birthday in a website, but it never asked for the year, just the day and month. I would advise anyone who would try to use this database for family records to take all the info with a grain of salt. I checked out a friend's birth date, who was born in 1958, and he was listed as born in 1950! I had found him in the Rootsweb CA birth database (before it was removed!) and it had the year correct there. Also, I found my nephew's age correct in it, but my brother has a wrong birth month. So, it's hard to say how many records are correct and how many are wrong, unless you know the info already.
