THE NAME ELGATE CAME FROM EZEKIAL'S GRANDMOTHER WAS AN ELGATE AND MARRIED MOSES DRISKELL. THEIR DAUGHTER MARY DRISKELL MARRIED JOHN RUARK AND HAD EZEKIAL WHO MD MARY ESKAM. I AM DESCENDED FROM EZEKIAL'S SON JOHN RUARK THE BROTHER OF ELGATE SENIOR. WOW, WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE IF YOU COULD HELP ME STRAIGHTEN OUT WHERE THE DRUMMOND COME IN I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. Elizabeth Drummond, daughter of Stephen Drummond b. 1720. married Elijah Tilghman, son of Aaron Elisha Tilghmn b. 1706 and Mary Martha Gibbons. They were in Worcester Co in 1799 (land records), selling all rights of Turner's Choice to Elizabeth's brother-in-law, Elgett (Elgate) Ruark. Elgate was married to Margaret Drummond. Does anyone know anything about these families?
